This
laboratory course is designed to define what a building is and what pertinent
codes, rules, and regulations affect the design of a building. It also
introduces the various types of buildings and the members of the workforce
involved in planning, designing, and constructing a building.
This
laboratory also introduces and discusses various parts found in a building, its
different types, its purpose, and how it relates with other building parts.
This allows the student to gain understanding on how the different building
parts function as an individual and how it affects the whole.
This
laboratory will discuss the different construction materials, it types, and
functions used in constructing a building. This will include not only the
description and differentiation between materials but also how they are used
and handles.
Finally, this laboratory will discuss the
various tools and equipment that are involved in building construction.
