Recreation and Leisure Management explores the concept of leisure and recreation in historical and social perspectives. It includes some current needs and issues of leisure and recreation, how leisure and recreation planning and programming are done, the areas in leisure and recreation, and the important stakeholders in any leisure and recreation planning and delivery. Students will undertake independent study of their leisure and recreation environment and suggest strategies to effectively meet the needs and demands of such activities. This course provides students with exposure to reading, interpreting, critiquing, and presenting data from relevant studies with particular emphasis on the different contexts of leisure/recreation management, such as service quality, intramural sport, tourism, and leisure.
